In the summer of 1972, the eyes of the world turned to Munich, Germany, as the city played host to the prestigious Olympic Games. However, amidst all the excitement and joy, tragedy struck on the night of August 5th, forever marking the 1972 Munich Olympics as a dark chapter in history. On that summer evening, members of the Israeli Olympic team were occupying a building within the Olympic Village, secured by German police officers. None of them could have possibly anticipated the horrifying events that were about to unfold. Infiltrating the premises were eight members of the Palestinian terrorist organization known as Black September. Armed with guns and grenades, their mission was to take the Israeli athletes hostage in a desperate effort to secure the release of over 200 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.

In a meticulously planned attack, the terrorists swiftly overtook the building, leaving two Israeli athletes killed and nine others captured. The news of the attack quickly spread, sending shockwaves through the Olympic Village and leaving the world in a state of disbelief and sorrow. Unfortunately, the operation ended in disaster, resulting in the death of all nine Israeli hostages, as well as a German police officer and five of the terrorists.
