LaVar Ball slams Michael Jordan for benching LaMelo Ball for 20 games in his rookie season

LaVar Ball has never been one to beat around the bush, and he still doesn't. In a recent interview with DJ Vlad, Ball blasted Michael Jordan for keeping his son LaMelo on the bench for the first 20 games of his rookie season with the Charlotte Hornets.

"What advice would he give my son? If you're going to offer some advice before you get drafted, right, if you do have some advice to give him, what about you? Give your coach advice so he doesn't have to play the first 20 games," Bauer said." Who drafts third overall and then you don't let him start? Tell me how that works? Give them advice."

Bauer also questioned Jordan's ability to teach LaMelo how to win, since Jordan hasn't won a championship since 2002.

"When was the last time he won a championship? What would he tell him? The game has changed, what could he tell him?" Ball said." If he says, 'Yo, this is how you're going to get better,' then the Charlotte Hornets have been around long before my son went there. Tell some of them that so you can win games. Don can't wait to tell my kids and get the word out to other people".

Ball made these comments despite the success of LaMelo Ball's rookie season, which earned him the 2021 NBA Rookie of the Year award. However, Ball believes his son could have done better if he hadn't sat on the bench for the first 20 games of the season.

"He could have been Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Player," Bauer said." He could have done it all if he had played in the first 20 games."

Michael Jordan has yet to respond to Ball's comments.
